The various agencies appointed to handle day to day activities, take on responsibility for collection of user charges, vehicle registrations and varying licensing fees. New Zealand Transport Agency (NZTA) is all about building a better transport system for New Zealanders. To do that, they need to make sure revenues come in from their various sources in a timely and efficient manner. Issuing licenses, carrying out renewals and managing infringement impacts, means multiple communications to millions of people. The integrity of data around user information is crucial. Identity fraud and policing of illegal registrations also make accurate records vital. Mastersoft are pleased to be able to add value to these all important needs.
NZTA needed to provide a Statement of Accuracy to New Zealand Post, around their data for Drivers License and Motor Registry customers, in order to qualify for bulk mail discounts. This was proving to be quite a challenge due to irregularities pre and post input of client data. Mastersoft went back to basics and assisted NZTA to carry out a complete analysis of possible errors and trends. The major investment in IT was soon refined to serve needs better and data matching upgrades were put in place to give significant increases in productivity.

The solution we implemented brings into play Harmony’s patented IRIS parser and its world leading inference matching. NZTA had been using Mastersoft solutions for batch and online scrubbing and matching on both identities and address information, since 1994. They selected Harmony as their preferred choice for implementation of their Future Post project, to ensure Postal Compliance with NZ Post SendRight™. Significant savings were made, along with other benefits, as a result of improving overall customer data quality in the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Databases.
